Screening + Q&A Session
Screen Fraser Coast and BigScreen Cinemas Hervey Bay, will be holding a Special Double Screening for Any Given Sunday and Double or Nothing.
Join us at 6:30pm to watch our Maryborough Local Director and Producer Sam Donsky’s short movie, Any Given Sunday.
Any Given Sunday is a drama and tragedy. Based on a true story, a young man returns to his hometown only to learn of his best friend’s death and struggles with grief whilst trying to understand what his deceased friend would have wanted for him.
Both movies will be screened for the opening night for Double or Nothing release at Big Screen Cinema.
We will also be holding a Q&A session with producer and actors from Double or Nothing and the director from Any Given Sunday at the end of the movie sessions.

Nick and Turbo are a couple of ex-con cousins who working in a mob-run Gold Coast workshop. While they’re trying to keep their noses clean, their boss Col isn’t going head to head with a violent rival. When the dangerous people take control of the workshop, Nick and Turbo find themselves with no job and no way to keep supporting Nick’s sick sister. It gets worse when the mob discovers that the 50K in the save the Turbo has been skimming from is disturbingly short.
They give the hapless cousins 72 hours to find and deliver it. Cue a high-energy comedic race against the clock as Nick and Turbo try to retrieve the cash and stay alive.
Nick (Howard) is a man trying to be invisible while Turbo (Ian-Pope) is a wise-cracking million miles an hour bull with add in a china shop. That have to somehow find a way to work together to find the cash, stay in good graces of their boss Col (Jarratt) and duck the psychotic mob-boss (Connor), what could go wrong?

Sam Donsky

Director Sam Donsky grew up in Maryborough, Queensland and moved to Brisbane at the age of 18 to attend film school. He is currently a full-time student at JMC Academy and is set to graduate in early 2025. Throughout his time in film school, Sam tragically lost two of his closest friends from his hometown and stepped up to create a short film in their honour ‘Any Given Sunday.‘ After having worked in broadcast for 5 years, this film is his directorial debut. Sam will continue to work in broadcasts around the region. His main career goal is to write a feature film script for a major production company.

Nicole Payten-Betts,

Actress & Producer
Nicole has a Double Bachelor in Acting and is an internationally award- winning actress.
Nicole is the Producer and lead Actress on Director Dru Brown’s feature film Double or Nothing starring Vince Colosimo, John Jarratt, Robert Rabiah and Steve Mouzakis that had its world premiere this year and is a contender for the AFI AACTA Awards.
Currently Nicole is the Director of The Allusion Club studio where she trains youth and teens weekly in acting and presenting lessons for Film and Television.

Andrew Ian Pope

Andrew Ian Pope is a versatile actor renowned for his vibrant character portrayals. He co-starred as the fast-talking “Turbo” in the Australian film ‘Double or Nothing,’ alongside icons like John Jarratt and Vince Colosimo. His credits include roles in Netflix’s ‘Boy Swallows Universe’ and the award-winning short film ‘Dog Eat Dog,’ which he also wrote. Currently, he’s producing a medieval comedy series set to be filmed in Queensland. A skilled martial artist, guitarist, beatboxer, and rapper, Andrew excels in various accents, with strong dramatic and comedic talents enhanced by his improvisational skills. Beyond acting, he leads a drama workshop for individuals with mental disabilities, learning as much as he teaches.
